Understanding the Transaction Tab
In the Entrust Client Portal, the Transactions tab offers a detailed overview of every transaction conducted within the IRA, including contributions, withdrawals, investments, and transfers. By monitoring this tab, account holders can view real-time updates of their account activities, ensuring they are always informed about the current state of their investments.
In this article, we’ll cover step-by-step instructions and detailed information for navigating the Transactions tab in the Entrust Client Portal.
Locating the Transactions Tab:
- Navigate to the Transactions Tab: After logging in to the Entrust Client Portal, click on the "Transactions" tab at the top of the page.
- Select the Account: If you have multiple accounts, specify which account's transactions you want to view.
- View the List of Transactions: Scroll down to see a list of transactions. Transactions are listed from the most recent to the earliest.
Now that you’re in the transactions tab, here’s an overview of the primary information you need to know:
Transaction Details:
- Transaction Type: Describes the nature of the transaction (e.g., IRA cash transfer deposit, employee contribution, rollover contribution, purchase of asset).
- Principal Cash: Cash amounts that either came into or left the account. Positive amounts indicate cash added to the account, while negative amounts (in red) indicate cash leaving the account.
- Principal Investment: Adjustments to the value of a particular asset. Cash transactions typically show zero since cash is not considered an investment asset in this context.
Examples of Transaction:
There are multiple types of transactions you might encounter in the Transactions tab. Here are the main ones:
- Cash Transfer Deposit: Cash added to the account (e.g., $5 million transferred into the account).
- Purchase of Asset: Investment made (e.g., $150,000 invested in "Oral Drug Properties Fund II LLC").
- Real Estate Purchase: Purchase of real estate (e.g., $20,000 leaving the IRA for a real estate investment).
- Income Generated from Asset: Income received from an investment (e.g., $2,172.67 in dividends).
There are also special transaction types, including:
- Purchase of Sweep Asset: Internal terminology indicating a transaction where cash comes into the account.
- Sale of Sweep Asset: Opposite of the purchase, indicating cash leaving the account.
Income from Assets:
Income from assets will show as "Other Income Non-Taxable" followed by the asset name and the dollar amount received. The asset value itself is not adjusted.
Now, you can navigate and understand the Transactions tab to view and manage the transactions in your Entrust account.
