Upload Your Driver's License

Take a photo of your ID and upload it to the Portal.

Use your phone to take a clear photo of your ID and upload it during the account opening process.

During the Entrust account opening process, you’ll be asked to upload a copy of your identification. If you don’t already have a digital copy of your driver’s license, you can take a photo using your phone, email it to yourself, and save it to your computer.

You’ll need images of both the front and back of your driver’s license.

Step 1: Take a Photo of Your Driver’s License

  1. Open the Camera app on your phone.
  2. Place your driver’s license on a flat surface or hold it in front of the camera.
  3. Make sure your fingers are not covering any information.
  4. Position the license at a comfortable distance from the camera:
    • Don’t hold it too close, or the image may be blurry.
    • Don’t hold it too far away, or the information may be difficult to read.
  5. Make sure the entire license is visible and in focus.
  6. Take the photo.

Tip: Before continuing, review the photo to make sure all information is clear and readable.

Step 2: Email the Photo to Yourself

The following steps are based on an iPhone. The process may look slightly different on an Android device.

  1. Open the photo you just took.
  2. Tap the Share icon. On an iPhone, this looks like a box with an arrow pointing upward.
  3. Select your preferred Mail or email app.
  4. Enter your own email address in the To field.
  5. Add a subject such as Driver’s License or DL.
  6. Send the email to yourself.

Repeat the same process to take and email a photo of the back of your driver’s license.

Step 3: Save the Photos to Your Computer

  1. On your computer, open your email.
  2. Find the email containing the driver’s license photo.
  3. Depending on your email provider and settings, the photo may appear as an attachment or directly within the email.

If the Photo Is an Attachment

  • Option 1: Right-click the attachment and select Download.
  • Option 2: If there is a downward-facing arrow next to the attachment, click the arrow and select Download.
  • Choose where you’d like to save the file on your computer.
  • To the side of the attachment there may be a down arrow so you will click on that and then select Download

If the Photo Appears Inside the Email

  1. Scroll down until you can see the photo in the email.
  2. Left-click the image to select it.
  3. Right-click the image.
  4. Select Save Image As or Save as Picture.
  5. Choose where you’d like to save the file.
  6. Click Save.

Tip: Save both images somewhere easy to find, such as your Downloads or Desktop folder.

Step 4: Upload Your Driver’s License to the Entrust Portal

  1. Return to the Entrust Client Portal.
  2. If you signed out, log back in and continue your application.
  3. On the identification upload page, click the area under File to Share or the available upload button.
  4. Navigate to the location where you saved your driver’s license photo.
  5. Double-click the file or select it and click Open.
  6. Repeat the process to upload the front and back of your driver’s license.
  7. Once both images have been uploaded, click Submit and continue with your application.

Before You Submit

Make sure:

  • Both the front and back of your driver’s license are uploaded.
  • The entire ID is visible in each photo.
  • No information is covered by your fingers or other objects.
  • The photos are clear, well-lit, and easy to read.
  • The images are not blurry or taken from too far away.

Once your files are uploaded and submitted, you can continue with the account opening process.
